Role Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student to join our team for the summer. This is a hands-on role that touches many parts of our organization – from financial record keeping and data analysis to workflow automation and day-to-day operational support. You’ll work primarily remotely, with select in-person days in Collingwood, ON. You’ll work directly with staff and get real experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Outcomes for This Role
By the end of the internship, the intern will have:
- Build and implement 3–5 automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate to reduce manual administrative work
- Produce recurring Excel-based reports or dashboards used by staff for operational or financial decision-making
- Improve at least 1–2 internal data collection or tracking processes through cleaning, structuring, or automation
- Support the execution of a smooth office transition, including documentation and setup support
Responsibilities
Throughout the term, the intern will be responsible for the following:
Financial & Reporting Support
- Assist with tracking, organizing, and maintaining financial records
- Support reconciliation and documentation processes as required
- Build clear Excel-based reports and summaries for staff and leadership
- Maintain and improve existing reporting templates
Data & Workflow Automation
- Collect, organize, and clean data from internal sources
- Perform basic analysis to identify trends or operational insights
- Build and improve automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate
- Integrate tools across Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Forms) to reduce manual work
Operational & Project Support
- Provide general administrative and operational support as needed
- Assist with the coordination and execution of the office move, including packing, organizing, and setup
- Support onboarding and setup of the new office environment
- Contribute to other short-term operational projects as they arise
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in business, finance, data analytics, information systems, or a related field
- Comfortable working with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Outlook, Forms, Power Automate)
- Experience with or willingness to learn additional tools and ai such as Excel-based databases, shared drives, or organizational reporting systems used within sport administration
- Strong attention to detail and organized approach to work
- Comfortable rolling up your sleeves – this role includes both desk work and hands-on tasks
- Ability to work independently and ask good questions when needed
- Must be available for select in-person days in Collingwood, ON
- Interest in sport organizations or non-profit operations is an asset
- Must be an Ontario resident and eligible to work in Canada
Supervision & Learning Support
- The intern will report to the Executive Director, with day-to-day guidance provided by designated staff members across finance and operations
- Regular check-ins will be scheduled to support learning, review progress, and assign priorities
- The role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to both finance and operational functions within a sport organization
