Alpine Ontario Alpin (AOA) is proud to announce the appointment of David McNeil as the new Women’s Lead Coach for the Ontario Ski Team (OST).
David brings with him a wealth of experience and success from the Estrie region of Quebec, where he has spent well over a decade leading both U16 and FIS programs. Under his leadership, a long list of athletes have advanced to the Quebec Provincial Team, and onward to the Canadian National Ski Team, and NCAA programs across North America. Notable names include Mathieu Routier, Vincent Lavoie, and Cathrine Blanchard— are among many others who have come through his program.
AOA’s Interim High Performance Director – Joey Lavigne shares, “McNeil’s reputation within the Canadian ski racing community is well established. Among Ontario’s coaching community, Quebec’s strong athlete pipeline is often a point of admiration, and when asked what drives that success, many point to coaches like David. His ability to cultivate potential and push athletes to their limits while maintaining a positive and focused team environment has made him a sought-after leader in the sport.”
“David’s deep understanding of alpine skiing, his proven track record of success, and his commitment to developing athletes both on and off the hill make him an exceptional addition to the OST coaching team,” said Patrick Biggs, Executive Director of Alpine Ontario Alpin. “We’re excited to welcome him to our community and are confident his leadership will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of high-performance female ski racers in Ontario.”
As the 2025–26 season approaches, AOA is energized by the opportunities ahead and the momentum building within our high-performance pathway. Please join us in welcoming David to the Alpine Ontario family.
