The Kananaskis Alpine Ski Club (“KASC”) is a member club of the Nakiska Alpine Ski Association (“NASA”)
located in Calgary, AB. NASA consists of 6 independent ski clubs comprising 330+ athletes and 40+
coaches. Working in conjunction with the other NASA member clubs, KASC is committed to delivering
an athletic program with 75+ dryland days and 95+ days on snow, to Canada’s next generation of U16
alpine skiers so they can attain their maximum individual athletic potential.

KASC is seeking a U16 Coach for the 2025-26 season.

Reporting to the U16 Head Coach (HC), the U16 Coach plays a key role in developing our young talent and
providing our U16 team with athletes possessing solid technical base, tactical knowledge, work ethic,
passion, and a desire to succeed.

Responsibilities
• Deliver dryland training program as outlined by the HC and Strength and Conditioning coach.
• Deliver the on-snow training program as outlined by the HC.
• Provide a safe and challenging on-snow training environment appropriate for athletic development.
• Course setting, video analysis and timing set-up.
• Take ownership of the athletes’ development.
• Ensure all athletes abide by the NASA Code of Conduct.
• Ability to travel abroad for camps and races and drive team van to training and competition venues as needed.
• Work with NASA Transportation Safety Officer (TSO) to ensure all KASC vehicles are operating in compliance with the NASA Driver Safety and Vehicle Maintenance Program.
• Ensure all KASC issued equipment is maintained and operational throughout the season.
• Understand the full NASA program and its structure. Actively promote the Club to internal and external parties.

Qualifications
•3+ years’ general ski coaching experience or 2+ years’ experience coaching at U16 or higher.
•Minimum ACA Development Level Trained certification, Performance Level Trained/Certified an
asset.
• Personal high-level competition experiences an asset.
• Valid Alberta class 4 driver’s license or willingness to obtain.
•Experience working effectively with parents, athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.
•Strong understanding and knowledge of the Alpine Canada Long Term Athlete Development
(ACA LTAD) plan, and the skills pathway.
• Team player able to work well and communicate with other members of a larger coaching team.
