Collingwood, ON (June 12th, 2018) – The Ontario Ski Team (OST) and Alpine Ontario Alpin (AOA) have officially selected the OST Training Squad for the 2018-19 season. The seven selected athletes all met the necessary requirements outlined in the newly revised OST Selection Criteria and have completed two evaluation camps, including the recent Mammoth Mountain ski camp, and a weekend of dryland testing at the Canadian Sport Institute of Ontario (CSIO) last month.

Kip Harrington comments on the new OST group, “The OST is off to a great start. We worked closely with the CSIO over the winter to ensure the conditioning programs were dialled in and ready to go in May. We will have more days on snow in the preparation period, with more training camps, starting with the recent technical camp at Mammoth Mountain California. We have seven great athletes on this team, a great plan, amazing support staff and coaches and look forward to making the most of the training!

Nine members of the 2017-18 OST will be moving on to new pursuits. Alpine Ontario congratulates all of these athletes, who have been able to pursue academic success alongside their athletic success.

The preparation period for the OST includes two weeks of conditioning camps July and July in Collingwood and at the CSIO in Toronto, and three weeks on-snow in El Colorado, Chile (August 17-September 4th). In the fall the group will complete two more conditioning camps and two on-snow camps; one in October in Europe and one in November in Western Canada or Colorado.
