Alpine Ontario Alpin (AOA) is pleased to announce that Normerica Building Systems has renewed its partnership as a Platinum Partner for the 2026-27 season. Normerica remains AOA’s Official Timber Frame Design and Home Builder.
Normerica supports Ontario ski racing at every level of the pathway, from U8 racers through to athletes on the Ontario Ski Team, Ontario Development Ski Team, and Ontario Para Ski Team.
Building for the community
Normerica has been designing and building timber frame homes in Ontario since 1979, with deep roots in the ski community. That shows the projects it takes on.
This season, Craigleith Ski Club’s new Base Lodge expansion opens. The 17,000+ square foot addition was designed and built by Normerica, which also designed and built Craigleith’s original lodge in 2003. It adds 300 indoor seats for members and families to gather, and uses mass timber construction, including cross-laminated timber and glulam beams. Prefabricated components helped shorten construction time and limit disruption to club operations.
Normerica’s work also reaches families beyond the hill. Its Blue Mountain chalet rebuild, featured in Raceline, showcasing a family that lost their home to fire and moved back in just over a year later. Normerica’s new Timber Frame Lookbook, also shared with the AOA community, features 19 residential projects, including chalets and cottages.
Normerica also supports the people who build the sport. This year’s Normerica Builder of the Year Award recipient, Mario Guertin, has supported dozens and dozens of Ontario racers for decades through his work in the ski industry.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Normerica back for another season. Their support reaches athletes, coaches, and families at every stage of the pathway, and projects like the Craigleith Base Lodge show how much they care about the places where our community gathers. We’re looking forward to continue to develop this partnership together.”
Patrick Biggs, Executive Director, Alpine Ontario Alpin
“Ontario’s ski racing community is a big part of the communities where we live and build. We’re proud to keep supporting AOA’s athletes, coaches, and clubs, and to recognize the people who make this sport what it is. We’re looking forward to another great season with Alpine Ontario.”
Chris McFarlane, President, Normerica Building Systems Inc.
