Fasken is used to summiting tall heights. As Canada’s largest law firm, we help some of the most successful companies in Canada and around the world reach peak success. Our lawyers embrace a challenging course in the representation of our clients to see them through to the finish of a deal, a case or successful implementation of new regulations. It is no surprise how closely aligned our mandate and culture is to that of Alpine Ontario.
With over 950 lawyers and agents spread across 10 offices on 3 continents, Fasken has established itself as a global leader in legal services, and a champion of Canadian sport.
In 2018, the Firm partnered with Alpine Ontario Alpin (AOA), enabling AOA to provide essential support to athletes and their families, promoting the sport and fostering a strong sense of community.
“Fasken believes in developing talent to reach full potential, and we champion excellence. It is essential to bring your best to your clients every day,” says Allyson Roy, partner at Fasken. “Ski racing is similar. It takes a lot of work, practice, and determination to be successful, and AOA fosters this excellence with its racers.”
AOA’s programs, such as the U16 Athletic Development Program, provide young athletes with increased time on-snow, enhanced fitness levels, and access to top-tier coaching and training facilities. Fasken’s support ensures these programs are well-funded and sustainable, allowing athletes to focus on developing their technical, tactical, physical, and mental skills without the financial stress.
Fasken’s commitment to sports extends beyond the slopes. In 2020, Fasken became the official law firm of Team Canada. Fasken helps the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) navigate complex legal landscapes. The Firm’s support has been significant during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, where legal issues can arise unexpectedly.
“As a former competitive swimmer, I have the utmost respect for what these ski racers achieve in their sport. The dedication and resilience it takes to be a successful athlete are skills that serve you well into life and along whichever career path you take. We’re proud to partner with AOA to help create opportunities for young athletes to build these critical skills,” says Karen Sargeant, Managing Partner, Ontario at Fasken.
Looking ahead, Fasken will continue to strengthen its partnerships with the COC and AOA,- supporting athletes’ journeys while setting new standards of excellence on every slope. With Fasken by their side, Canadian athletes are not just competing – they’re thriving! www.fasken.com
