ALPINE ONTARIO LAUNCHES CLUB EXCELLENCE PROGRAM WITH NEW PARTNER ROSSITER BOATS

Collingwood, ON (October 6, 2017) – Alpine Ontario Alpin (AOA) is pleased to announce a new partnership for the 2017/18 season with Rossiter Boats.  Rossiter will be supplying a brand new R17 model boat which will be used to launch the 2017/18 AOA Raffle and the new AOA Club Excellence Program.

The Rossiter campaign will support the first year of a four year Club Excellence Program designed for AOA member clubs with a specific focus on Coach Education this coming season. The coach education program will be geared towards raising funds to certify more coaches; provide more mentorship opportunities and create more resources and education tools to assist clubs in attracting great coaches.

Executive Director Scott Barrett explains, “We are thrilled to welcome Rossiter to the AOA community and lead this new grassroots program.  Rossiter President, Scott Hanson, a former ski racer himself and father of a U16 and two FIS racers, was keen to see the sponsorship reach all levels of our sport. This grassroots concept resonated with our long standing quest to launch a Club Excellence program similar in nature to what exists in the United States Ski and Snowboard association (USSA). Essentially we are using the prize of a beautiful new Rossiter boat as a fundraising initiative to invest money in to our clubs for coach education.” Barrett continues, “As an Organization we have recently looked at many different Sport bodies in the area of growth and retention and the message was loud and clear that sports and organizations that retain stronger skilled coaches retain more athletes.  The motto for the raffle campaign is “Every Kid Deserves a Great Coach” and we hope it will ring true for all members.”

AOA clubs can expect full details on the Rossiter Raffle by November 1st and will be provided with the tools necessary to engage their memberships.  The goal is to provide clubs with a turnkey fundraising opportunity in order to raise money for coach education. For example, if a club were to sell 200 tickets ($20 each) they will have raised $4,000. The first 50% (or $2,000) automatically returns to the club. The next 50% (or $2,000*) will also go back to the club providing they meet the Coach Education program requirements after the season is completed.

*less the affiliated AOA raffle license fees and marketing expenses.
