FIS Head Coach – Sunshine Alpine Racers (SARS)
2026/2027 Season
Location: Calgary/Banff, Alberta

Sunshine Alpine Racers (SARS) is seeking an experienced, passionate, and moƟvated Head FIS Coach to lead our FIS
program for the 2026/2027 season. Based in Banff, Alberta, Sunshine Ski Club is commiƩed to developing
technically strong, confident, and independent ski racers through a high-quality, athlete-centered training
environment. Our program supports athletes pursuing compeƟƟve excellence while balancing academics, personal
growth, and life outside of skiing.

Position Overview
The Head FIS Coach will lead athlete preparaƟon and competition programming for SARS. This posiƟon is
responsible for developing and execuƟng annual training and competition plans, leading on-snow programming,
supporting athlete development, and managing competition preparation and race schedules. The successful
candidate will work collaboraƟvely with club leadership, coaches, athletes, and families to deliver a comprehensive
FIS program focused on long-term athlete progression.
Key ResponsibiliƟes
 Plan and execute annual training and compeƟƟon programming
 Lead on-snow training, preseason preparaƟon, regular season programming, and spring development
 Support athlete development through technical feedback, video analysis, and individualized planning
 Coordinate race schedules, compeƟƟon preparaƟon, and athlete logisƟcs
 Provide equipment guidance and athlete preparaƟon support
 Communicate effectively with athletes, families, coaches, and club leadership
 Manage program logistics, administraƟon, athlete evaluaƟons, and development planning
 Collaborate with coaching staff to conƟnue strengthening SARS FIS programming

Program Highlights:
 Early-season training opportuniƟes in Alberta and BC
 Regular training throughout the Bow Valley, including Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, Norquay, and Nakiska
 Weeknight sessions at WinSport/COP in Calgary
 Alberta and BC race series, along with strategically selected FIS competitions
 Spring training at Sunshine Village through May

Qualifications & Experience

SARS is seeking candidates with:
 Coaching experience with compeƟƟve alpine ski racing programs
 Experience working with FIS-age athletes and high-performance pathways
 Strong technical knowledge of alpine ski racing and athlete development
 Experience planning and delivering seasonal training programs
 Ability to provide effecƟve technical feedback and performance analysis
 Knowledge of FIS regulaƟons, competition protocols, and race preparaƟon
 Strong understanding of ski preparation and equipment consideraƟons
 Excellent leadership, organizational, and communicaƟon skills
 ACA Performance Level certification (or equivalent)
 Valid driver’s license
