Job Title: Ontario Development Ski Team Assistant Coach
Organization: Alpine Ontario Alpin
Position: Contract (~8 months – August1st – April 30)
Reports to: ODST Lead Coach & Men’s Head Coach

The Team:

The Ontario Development Ski Team is a high-performance program made up of Ontario’s best U19 FIS ski racers and is based in Collingwood, Ontario. The primary goal of the Ontario Development Ski Team is to provide athletes with the best possible preparation on route to the Ontario Ski Team and Canadian Alpine Ski Team. The program focuses primarily on performance at regional and national FIS racing, with exposure to Nor-Am and international competition where appropriate.

Position Summary:

Alpine Ontario Alpin is seeking a Men’s Coach for the Ontario Development Ski Team for the 2026-27 season. The Men’s Coach will be responsible for supporting the daily delivery, planning, and leadership of the ODST men’s group while working closely with the ODST Lead Coach, Men’s Head Coach, the Women’s team staff, and the broader AOA High Performance team.

The successful candidate will help create a high-quality daily training environment, support athlete development on and off the hill, and contribute to a professional team culture. All ODST coaches are expected to understand and promote the vision, goals, standards, and culture of Alpine Ontario. This role involves extensive domestic and international travel and requires strong leadership, communication, organization, and collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the ODST Head Coach in delivering all aspects of programming, on and off the hill, as decided by OST Head Coaches including but not limited to:
    • Organizing and delivering on snow or physical conditioning training sessions
    • Ensuring a safe training environment
    • Setting or assist in course setting
    • Video filming, uploading, and analysis with athletes as needed
    • Data Tracking and Athlete Wellness Monitoring
  • Driving team vehicles and athletes to training, competition or other Team activities as required. Class F Drivers licence is an asset.
  • Help with preparation of individual athlete equipment
  • Maintain and otherwise care for ODST equipment
  • Supporting and advancing the vision, goals, and procedure of the Ontario Ski Team and Alpine Ontario
  • Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding and ability to coach alpine ski racers in all performance factors
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment, and follow the lead and direction of the Lead Coach
  • Capacity to organize daily training environments and logistics
  • Preparedness to work long hours and tolerate the physical and other demands of high performance ski programming
  • Competence with video filming, sharing, and analysis
  • Commitment to providing safe and inclusive environments for athletes to thrive.
  • Commitment to following and furthering the AOA HP Plan, Vision and Objectives.
  • Commitment to excellence in providing Daily Training Environments
  • Experience using S&C resources, tools and metrics (S&C, data tracking, athlete wellness monitoring, mental performance support, IAPP use and tracking).
  • Ability to perform, multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure or high stress environments.
  • Passion to inspire ODST athletes to peak performance
  • Proficiency with basic budgeting and financial reporting

Additional weight will be given to candidates who possess:

  • A background and education in physical training
  • Certified Mental Performance Coach
  • Possess high level of knowledge and experience in ski service and boot adjustment/fitting
  • Can speak other languages used in our field of work (eg. French, Spanish, German, etc.)
  • Have had competition experience at a high level

Supervision and Reporting:

  • Report directly to ODST Head Coach, and indirectly to AOA HP Director
  • Supervise ODST athletes such as ensuring that all OST Athlete Agreement and Code of Conduct.
