U12 Extended Ski Coach
Mansfield Ski Club is seeking an enthusiastic, and athlete-focused ski coach to join our competitive racing program for the 2026-2027 season. The successful candidate will help develop technically strong, and motivated young ski racers within a positive team environment.
Position Overview
The coach will work primarily with U12 athletes competing in the Southern Ontario Division winter and spring racing circuits. This role includes planning and leading training sessions, attending races and camps, and collaborating with athletes, parents, and club leadership. This is a full or part time, seasonal position.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality on-snow training for U12 athletes
- Set and manage training environments safely
- Promote strong technical fundamentals and long-term athlete development
- Supervise athletes during training camps, races, and travel
- Provide constructive feedback directly to athletes and through video
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented culture
- Communicate effectively with parents, athletes, and program staff
- Assist with dryland conditioning and preseason preparation
- Ensure adherence to club safety and athlete welfare policies
Qualifications
- Minimum ACA Entry Level certified coach, Development Level preferred
- Previous experience coaching U12 preferred
- Strong skiing and technical analysis skills
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and travel during the ski season
- Current first aid certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for youth athlete development
