BC Adaptive is looking for a guide & back-up guide/training partner for a visually impaired ski racer
based in the Okanagan for the 2025/2026 season. This is an exceptional opportunity to support a
dedicated athlete striving to represent Canada at the Paralympic Games.
Responsibilities:
Guide the athlete and train with the athlete and the Okanagan Ski Team as needed throughout the season. Training locations are Apex Mountain Resort and Silver Star Resort.
Participate in pre-season/downhill race training activities with the athlete such as crosscountry skiing or gym sessions in accordance with the OST programming
Guide, train and/or race with athlete in other locations as prescribed by the OST race calendar as required
Guiding and training requires on and off snow support for the duration of the program with OST
Commit to self-improvement (i.e. fitness, technical skiing) as coached by Okanagan Ski Team coach and directed by BC Adaptive Snowsports Athlete Development Manager
Provide proper equipment required for ski racing (adaptive equipment will be provided)
This is a paid position, it is ideal for ski racers who would like to train, guide with an 18-year old
