Home 9 News 9 Ontario Masters at the 2023 Canadian Masters’ Alpine Championships & FIS Masters’ Cup

CMAC and FMC overlapped from 8 – 10 February 2023, held in Kimberley, BC.  CMAC included two Super-G races on Wednesday, a 2-run slalom race on Thursday and a 2-run GS race on Friday, for a total of four races.  FMC included two Super-G races on Wednesday, a 1-run slalom (part of Alpine Combined) and a 2-run slalom race on Thursday and two 1-run GS races on Friday, for a total of six races.

There were 73 competitors, in total, with 20 from Ontario, 5 from Quebec, 17 from Alberta, 7 from BC, 11 from USA, 5 from Switzerland and 1 each from Australia, Austria, Chile, France, and Italy.  The age categories ranged from 80-84 down to 18-29 for CMAC and 80-84 down to 35-39 for FMC; all age categories, as well as non-FIS card holders, were allowed to race in the FMC races but obviously no FIS points awarded.

Ontario Masters did well bringing home 39 medals (13 gold, 17 silver & 9 bronze) between them for CMAC.  Similarly, ON Masters brought home 32 medals (13 gold, 13 silver & 6 bronze) for FMC.  Note: Seven did not have FIS cards.
