Head Coach – Red Deer Ski Club
About RDSC:
We are located in Red Deer, Alberta at Canyon Ski Hill (the biggest non-mountain ski hill in Alberta). We currently have approximately 50 athletes in programs ranging from U6 to U21. Our regular program athletes train all day on Saturdays and our extended athletes train Wednesday evenings, all day Saturdays and half days on Sundays. We race in the North Zone of Alberta participating in all North Zone Alberta Alpine race events, some provincial races and go to several mountain camps throughout the season.
A safe and inclusive environment is provided for all athletes, coaches and families.
Job Overview:
● Must work with our program director in the planning and implementation of club training programs including day to day lesson plans to planning away training camps.
● Provide coaching and leadership to all of our athletes and coaches.
● Mentor and help develop our coaching team.
● Participate in Alberta Alpine meetings
● Provide regular feedback to athletes and families
● Uphold RDSC code of conduct.
● Work together with the board of directors/ program director and other coaches to help with the development of our clubs short and long term goals.
● Enthusiasm for working with youth and the desire to improve our athletes at all levels.
● This is a full time seasonal position.
Qualifications:
● ACA Development or Performance level certification
● 4 or more years of experience coaching or 2 + years of head coach / program director duties elsewhere.
● Experience developing race programs and athletes.
● Valid vulnerable sector check
● Personal high level racing experience is an asset
